Hair Removal Scams

A scam is a dishonest attempt to get your your money by making false claims or by failing to deliver the goods promised.

First, it is important to do a little research on the company name promoting the product, and see if there are any negative comments on the internet. Just use google.com, enter the product or company name, add the word "scam" to the search string, and find out! Based on hairfacts.com and other resources, there are the following hair removal brands to stay away from:

  • The Tricho System
    Type of device: X-ray epilator
This device removed hair with x-rays but it became clear that the device was causing cancer, disfigurement, and death in patients.
  • IGIA
    Type of device: Electric tweezer
There is no published medical proof they can work as claimed.
